At this time we have limited funds for partial scholarships. Please click on "register" at the bottom left of the page in order to complete the scholarship application. You will need the following information:
For Merit-Based Scholarships: Three Images of your work in jpg or pdf format, 2 letters of recommendation from instructors/supervisors, and a personal statement about what the camper hopes to gain from their time at summer art camp
For Need-Based Scholarships: A statement indicating financial need, total household gross annual income and family size, list of total monthly income versus monthly expenses (which may include any unforeseen expenses such as medical bills, etc). and how this scholarship/art camp will benefit your child. Additionally, we need a letter of recommendation from someone who is not a family member (teacher, principal, minister, neighbor, supervisor, etc).
Please note: The first application deadline for SUMMER CAMP scholarships will be March 15, 2024. If funds are still available, we will award additional scholarships after the second application deadline of May 25, 2024.
OTHER scholarships are considered based on need, merit, and available funding as they are received.

STEAM: Art with LEGOs (1st-3rd)
Everyone loves LEGOs!  In this super-fun camp, young artists will construct sculptures, make art prints, and more! This isn't a step-by-step LEGO construction experience, but a full-on art experimentation camp for creative kids wanting to push their creative limits.
Please note: There is no camp on June 19 in observance of Juneteenth.

STEAM: ArtSplosions! Art + Science (4th-6th)
Eek, boom, splash! Homemade goo, volcanoes, and plants that just "dye" to be different may appear in this artful science camp.  From chemistry to ecology, drawing to sculpting...art and science explode at the CVA this summer.
Paint Party (4th-6th)
This week, campers will have a blast as they explore all things to do with paint and painting! Drawing inspiration from the works of famous painters and using different kinds of paint--including some they make themselves--campers will brush, drip, pour, drag, and splatter their way to their very own creative masterpieces.
Pinterest Party! (1st-3rd)
Is your child a DIYer in the making? This camp is perfect for kids who want to do something different each day! Campers will have the opportunity to "Nail it!" by completing crafts inspired by projects on Pinterest. They'll have a blast as they build, craft, decorate, and more.
STEAM: Art with LEGOs (4th-6th)
Art Around the World (1st-3rd)
Students will draw inspiration from the art and artists of diverse cultures and countries as they create their own work in media including drawing, painting, sculpting, fibers, and more. They'll explore the varied styles and art techniques of peoples around the globe, getting a taste of the incredible range of expression possible in visual arts. This is a great camp for budding art enthusiasts who would like to experience a variety of art media in a structured, yet fun environment!
Messy Masterpieces (4th-6th)
Campers will view artmaking in a whole new light after this week! In this camp, they'll explore imaginative ways to create art using everyday objects and unexpected materials. Items may include: recyclables & found objects, fruits & vegetables, fabrics & tools, and more. Some traditional art tools will be used, too... but in unexpected ways. Any way you look at it, though, these messy masterpieces will be marvelous!
Learn from the Masters (7th-9th)
Students will draw inspiration from a variety of artists and art movements throughout history. Young artists will create their own work by using a variety of media. Exercises may include drawing, painting, sculpting, fibers, and more. Students will learn about the varied styles and art techniques of artists around the globe, getting a taste of the incredible range of expression possible in visual arts. This camp is great for campers who want to discover and learn more about their favorite artists throughout history!
Playing with Clay (4th-6th)
Campers will learn basic hand building techniques such as pinch pottery, slab building, coil building, and score & slip. Using skills learned in class, students will make functional objects as well as decorative, sculptural forms. In the past, these fun imaginative projects have included gnome cottages, ceramic foods, cups, bowls, and a wide array of animals. Instructors will guide students from the beginning of the design process through the finished glazed products.
Please Note: Clay camps meet Tuesday-Friday. No camp on Mondays.

Using inspiration from historical and contemporary artists, students will build their skills using a variety of drawing materials to create their own original artworks.  By the end of the week, each student will have created numerous studies and sketches to plan and complete at least one finished painting they can be proud to hang on their wall.  This camp is open to all skill levels.

Campers will try their hand at the art of graphic design using Sketchbook and other tools to manipulate images and create one-of-a-kind digital art that's as unique as they are. Future viral marketers and designers of all kinds will love this camp! They'll also learn about the origins of the media and discover how modern-day creatives use them in fine art and graphic design careers.

STEAM - The Art of Building (1st-3rd)
Art is all around us every day...and not just in the form of drawings and paintings. While learning about the buildings and structures around them, campers will stretch their expressive muscles and build new things that exist in their imaginations. They'll have the opportunity to design and build models of their own dream homes and assemble decorative art pieces from various age-appropriate (and fun!) materials, learning about simple, universal principles of architecture and assemblage sculpture along the way.
