Gallery Hosting Are you a friendly face that loves to engage and meet others? Are you an artist or art lover that wants to put their face out there and make connections? On slower days, this is a great position to even relax and work on your own art. On busy days, well, have fun! Gallery host volunteers will be at the front desk welcoming visitors to the gallery, taking messages, assisting with purchases, logging visitors, helping with small admin tasks, cashiering, answering phones, ultimately letting guests know what the CVA is all about, what we offer, and about our purpose. Click Here to pick a 2-3 hour slot that fits with your schedule Event volunteers Are you a person who can't sit still, loves a busy event, or has a schedule that fluctuates? This might be the volunteer role for you! As an event volunteer, you may be asked to cashier (knowledge of Square POS is preferred but brief training will be provided), keep count of visitors, assist with artist nametags, bartend, assist with set up and clean up, serve food and drinks, be a photographer, host an activity, etc. You're a floater! Every 1st Friday of the month, the Cultural Arts center hosts a building wide themed event in which gallery participation is expected! Usually these are our busiest nights of the month and extra helping hands can be used since we're also usually scheduling new exhibition openings and events the same night as well as hosting a bar. We try to remain flexible with event volunteers and attendance for the entire time slot isn't necessary- covering for 1 hour is better than none and we need all hands on deck! Click Here to pick a 2-3 hour slot that fits with your schedule | Gallery TurnoverAre you interested in gaining behind the scenes experience with a gallery? As a gallery turnover volunteer, you'll help install our shows!Gallery turnover consists of sanding, painting walls, spackling, cleanup, labeling, drilling, moving heavy objects such as pillars, and hanging/setting up artwork for display. While experience is strongly preferred, it is not required as we typically will have the director of ops or gallery coordinator who will be able to instruct.Due to the nature of this role, you must be able to perform the listed tasks.
